ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಮೈಸೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿ–5ರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಟಗಳ್ಳಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಕೆ.ಆರ್.ಎಸ್. ಮುಖ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಫುಟ್ಪಾತ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳು, ಶೆಡ್ಗಳು, ತಳ್ಳುಗಾಡಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾಹೀರಾತು ಫಲಕಗಳನ್ನು ಜೆಸಿಬಿ ಯಂತ್ರದ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 30ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಅನಧಿಕೃತ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಫುಟ್ಪಾತ್ ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಆತಂಕ ಎದುರಾಯಿತು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ನೂತನ ಆಯುಕ್ತೆ ಎಂ.ಕೆ. ಸವಿತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿ–5ರ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಪಾಲಕ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಯತೀಂದ್ರ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಕ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ನಾಗರಾಜು, ಹೆಲ್ತ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಗೀತಾ, ಮೇಟಗಳ್ಳಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಅರುಣ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ನಗರದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಫುಟ್ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Mysuru Civic Body Clears Footpath Encroachments; Over 30 Roadside Shops Demolished

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) launched a major anti-encroachment drive on Friday, demolishing more than 30 illegal roadside shops and structures during a footpath clearance operation in the Metagalli area.
The operation was carried out in Zone-5 along the K.R.S. Main Road, where encroachments including roadside kiosks, temporary sheds, pushcarts, and unauthorized advertisement boards had occupied public footpaths.
Using JCB excavators, civic officials removed over 30 illegal structures, clearing pedestrian pathways that had been encroached upon for several years.
The drive was conducted under the guidance of MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha and led by Assistant Executive Engineer Yatheendra.
Officials including Work Inspector Nagaraju, Health Inspector Geetha, Metagalli Police Inspector Arun, along with personnel from the Mysuru City Corporation and the Police Department, participated in the operation.
Civic authorities stated that similar encroachment clearance drives will continue across different parts of Mysuru to ensure safe and obstruction-free footpaths for the public.
