ಮೈಸೂರು,ಜೂನ್ 22, 2026(www.kannadapost.com): ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಯುವ ಚೆಸ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಕೌಸ್ತುಭ್ ತೇಜಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಡರ್-9 ಚೆಸ್ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ಶಿಪ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿ ರನ್ನರ್-ಅಪ್ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆದು ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟು 9 ಸುತ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 8 ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದ ಕೌಸ್ತುಭ್ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕೌಸ್ತುಭ್ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಡರ್-7 ಚೆಸ್ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಆಗಿಯೂ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ್ದು, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಾಲಾ ಚೆಸ್ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ವಿಜಯನಗರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕೌಸ್ತುಭ್, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮೊದಲ ಗ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ತೇಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಎಂ.ಎಸ್. ಅವರ ಪುತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಚಿಕ್ಕ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೌಸ್ತುಭ್ ಅವರ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ಚೆಸ್ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತಸ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ.
Mysuru’s Kaustubh Tejkumar Finishes Runner-Up in Karnataka Under-9 Chess Championship
Mysuru, June 22, 2026: Young chess talent Kaustubh Tejkumar from Mysuru secured the runner-up position in the Karnataka Under-9 State Chess Championship held in Bengaluru.
He scored an impressive 8 points out of 9 rounds to finish second in the prestigious tournament.
Kaustubh is a former State Under-7 Champion and had also secured fourth place in the National School Chess Championship.
A student of St. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, Mysuru, Kaustubh is the son of Karnataka’s first Grandmaster, Tejas Kumar M.S.
His achievement has brought pride to the Mysuru chess community and raised expectations for greater accomplishments in the future.
