H. D. Kumaraswamy ಅವರು, 1996ರಲ್ಲಿ H. D. Deve Gowda ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ರಂಗ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ 33% ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಮಸೂದೆ ಮಂಡಿಸಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಮೈತ್ರಿ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಮಸೂದೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಫಲಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದವು. ಈಗಲೂ ಅದೇ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮರುಕಳಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ Narendra Modi ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ದೊರಕಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಆದರೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಮಿತ್ರಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮಸೂದೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ತಂದಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಮಸೂದೆ ಸೋಲಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ದೇಶದ ನಾರಿಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದರು.
“ಇದು ಮಾತೃಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಪಮಾನ. ಇದರ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರರು ತಕ್ಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

Following the defeat of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy launched a sharp attack on the Congress party.
⚖️ “History Repeats Itself”
He stated that even after three decades, Congress’s “anti-women mindset” has not changed.
Referring to 1996, he recalled that the government led by H. D. Deve Gowda had introduced a historic bill to provide 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.
He alleged that Congress and its allies had blocked it then—and have done so again now.
🏛️ Allegations Against Opposition
He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a bold step to ensure justice for women, but the opposition once again obstructed the effort.
👩⚖️ “Nari Shakti Will Not Forgive”
Kumaraswamy warned that the forces responsible for defeating the bill would not be forgiven by the women of the country.
“This is an insult to womanhood, and those responsible will face consequences,” he said.
