ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು,ಮಾರ್ಚ್,6,2026 (www.kannadapost.com):ರೈತರ ಆದಾಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವಾಗಿ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹಲವು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಮತ್ತು ಹವಾಮಾನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ಬೆಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ರೈತರ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 12,000 ಮೆಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಟನ್ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಎರಡು ಶೀತಲಗೃಹಗಳನ್ನು ₹64 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಮುಂದಿನ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶೀತಲಗೃಹಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ಇದೆ.
ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ
ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಲಿಂಗಾಂಬುಧಿ ಸಸ್ಯ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
ಡಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು
ತಜ್ಞರ ವರದಿಯ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತದ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Karnataka Boosts Horticulture Sector with Cold Storages, Hydroponics and New College
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government is focusing on horticulture as a major driver of farmer income growth, prioritizing high-value crops, climate-resilient farming and market-driven horticulture development.
Major Achievements in Last Three Years
The government has implemented several initiatives to strengthen the horticulture sector:
Horticulture cultivation introduced in 89,000 hectares of new area
Drip irrigation installed in 2.23 lakh hectares benefiting 2.36 lakh farmers
₹2,378 crore crop insurance compensation provided to 11 lakh farmers
9,800 post-harvest units constructed benefiting 21,360 farmers
PPP Model for Horticulture Development
The government plans to establish high-value orchards, post-harvest facilities and horticulture-based industries on available lands of the horticulture department under the PPP model.
Pest and Disease Control Programs
To control diseases in arecanut and coconut crops, including:
Leaf spot disease
Yellow leaf disease
Rot diseases
Coconut black head caterpillar
Whitefly infestation
A community-based pest management program worth ₹10 crore will be implemented with support from agricultural universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
New Cold Storage Facilities
Two cold storage facilities with a combined capacity of 12,000 metric tons will be constructed at:
Honnali in Davanagere district
Toravi in Vijayapura district
The project will cost ₹64 crore.
Cold storages will also be gradually developed in all agricultural markets.
Lingambudhi Botanical Garden Development
The Lingambudhi Botanical Garden in Mysuru will be upgraded to attract tourists and environmental enthusiasts.
Promotion of Soil-less Farming
The government will promote hydroponics and coco peat-based soil-less farming to conserve water and prevent soil-borne diseases.
Horticulture College in Dambal
Based on expert recommendations, infrastructure work will begin for establishing a new horticulture college in Dambal.
