ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಎಐಡಿಎಸ್ಓ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಚೈತ್ರ ಅವರು, “ಕೆಪಿಎಸ್ ಮ್ಯಾಗ್ನೆಟ್ ಯೋಜನೆ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸುಮಾರು 40,000 ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುವ ಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿ, ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ‘ನಮ್ಮೂರ ಶಾಲೆ ಉಳಿಯಲಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಘೋಷದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಮಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಬಡ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.
